The programme has re-ignited my interest in the English language and in teaching it. Seeing the teaching of reading/writing in this systematic way is eye-opening.
As my understanding of the code and the four keys has developed, I have gained a real clarity about how I should be teaching reading and spelling. I have been able to take existing knowledge and understanding and connect it in a way that now makes total sense. As a class teacher I know that this approach is going to have a real impact on the children I teach, and as a literacy coordinator I now feel confident that I can lead the implementation of a programme across the school that could make a real difference to all learners.
