The Scheme

  • The Sound Reading System is a systematic synthetic phonics scheme, that really does help every child to read.

    The scheme includes:

    • A Teachers’ Handbook – ensures teachers know and understand SRS.  It includes model lessons, ideas for error correction, activity ideas, and crucially, the order in which to teach the sounds.
    • The Teaching Materials include diagnostic tests, photocopiable activity sheets for Foundation, Stage One and Stage Two and Really Reading Stories.
    • Word Cards – for word puzzles and auditory processing exercises.
    • CD-ROM, with all of the Teaching Materials to print out.
